Bill Gates appeared before the Senate Committee headed by Senator Kennedy complaining that there are not enough people to hire here in the U.S. to fill Microsofts need for computer engineers etc. He asked for Visas that permit people from India to Work here in that field. We all knew his motive, cheap labor. What is interesting that he completely overlooks the facts as follows:
There are thousands and thousands of applicants to our Universities that have a reputation and only hundreds or less get in.Cornell requires a 1350 Sat score with a 3.6 average as a minimum requirement. Yale requires high Sat scores and high averages as well. All Ivy League schools do as well as State Universities. Many States will not accept any applications to their State Universities from applicants from other States. Well Bill I have a project for you.
There are thousands and thousands of boys and girls with very high averages who do not make these schools. They have enough IQ and high marks to do the work in your field. Take your money and have microsoft contribute and build large Universities devoted to your field of computers, offer incentives and you will fill up those schools that can bear your name to Honor you and you will have all the brain power you need but you will have to pay them more than you would those foreign computer engineers. They would all be American of different ethnicities,
Indian, Black, Latino's, Chinese, Korean, Russian, etc etc. How about it Bill?
