Congenital Herpes has plagued many people. It has resulted in the birth of babies that are brain damaged, deformed and dead. The sad part of this tale is that there is a drug company showing a TV add for its product to prevent a partner who has herpes from giving it to the one who does not have it. Its cute. The boy in the add says something to the effect I have Herpes she doesn't. I take (the product) and she doesn't. She says something to the effect, I have plenty of sex and so far have not gotten herpes from him. The add ends with a series of admonitions such as there is no guarantee this will work; always use protection and that is no guarantee and then a sordid recitation of the side effects that make your hair curl.
What the drug company doesn't mention is the following:
A) Ladies if you know the guy you are going with has Herpes then my advice is as follows: 1) Do not have sex with him. 2) Find another guy who has no Herpes and no VD. and 3) If you do engage in sex make sure you and he have protection but most of all do not have sex with a person who has herpes. For you gals out there it is devastating if you want to have children.
For the rest of us we should all get after the FCC and make them take this add off the TV.
