A Sorry Bunch.

I'm perplexed: There is not one candidate in either party that has the goods to be president of these United States of America. The Liberals are crazy and the Conservatives even nuttier. All talk ,talk, talk out of both sides of the mouth, without coming up with a single sensible solution to the serious problems we have. Our legislators, for the most part, are too wrapped up in making a buck for themselves.

Mr Moore, the filmmaker is so idealistic that I would not trust him to run a Candy store. After all he hates business. He is wacky. Some of the points he makes however are true. The insurance industry has grown too big, too powerful, too corrupt. I have not seen any giving of substantial portions of their income to help advance medicine by new technology and research. They are a health hazard. I agree . They interfere with a Doctors treatment of his patient. Not one D.A. or U.S. Attorney taking them to task for practicing medicine without a license. None of their paid doctors handing out second opinions cutting off a treatment, test,or procedure a treating physician wants his patient to have,They can not be sued as there is Court protection. The Courts hold that there is no doctor patient relationship and therefore they can not be sued for medical mal practice even though they render decisions to the company that result in death or permanent injury to an insured by their doctors interference in the care of his patient. The licensing authority of doctors blind themselves to what is going on. An insurance company does one of two things: A) Enclourages HMO doctors to save money so that they could get a greater share which results in doctors not ordering tests that really should be ordered, and treatment that should be given but is not given. They fear nothing. They dance with impunity while they cause harm to the people they treat.
B) Insurance companies have doctors on payroll as hired guns to give opinions that are detrimental to the insured and against the treatment proposed by the treating doctor. They have immunity for the interference they do with a treating doctors care of his patient. The law has to change. These doctors have to be made liable in medical mal practice to the insured if their opinion to deny a test, treatment, surgical procedure results in harm to the insured. At least it will act as a check and balance to the greed of the company and will offer some measure of protection to the public. The bottom line is the only motivation of the Insurance Companies.
Should we have socialized medicine with government control?
ABSOLUTELY NOT. IF YOU THINK ITS BAD NOW, IT WILL BE FIVE TIMES WORSE having SOCIALIZED MEDICINE.

Mr Moore does not go into the terrible pitfalls of socialized medicine, such as waiting months and months to get to a specialist. You could die first before you will be approved for such a service. You do not have the best of doctors although you will get what I call very basic care. If you have a serious problem you would not want socialized medicine. Read the articles in England and Canada. Quebec had socialized medicine starting back in the 50's and still has it.Check it out. Mr Moore has not nor will he admit that he is blind to the realities of life. His idealism is so lopsided that he can not see the true picture. Why doesn't he do an expose of socialized medicine. JUST RECENTLY OUR BOYS WHO WERE BADLY WOUNDED TAKEN TO A MILITARY HOSPITAL THAT ALL OF US HAVE TO HANG OUR HEADS I SHAME AS TO THE CONDITIONS THERE AND THE TREATMENT OF OUR BOYS.
REMOVING THE GENERAL IS NOT THE CURE. THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL HAVE WITH SOCIALIZED MEDICINE ITS CALLED I DON'T GIVE A HOOT.

NO SIR. I want a doctor to make money so that he or she will do his or her best. I want the people working in hospitals and the hospitals to make money as it is the great incentive to want to do better. If you do not produce you do not get paid is the saying that can be applied to our Schools, Medical Profession, Hospitals and other care givers. INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE TAKERS AND NOT GIVERS. THEY GIVE YOU THE GARBAGE THAT THEIR SHARE HOLDERS WANT THE BOTTOM LINE. YES YES WHO ARE THE SHAREHOLDERS?
they are the guys who are the CEO'S and Majority Controlling people who look only to the bottom line. If the little guy and the Unions and Pension Trusts were the shareholders with power, the bottom line would not be the controlling factor. It would be what benefit can we achieve for the company by doing the right thing for all our policy holders instead of lets cheat them as much as we can. Yup, the problem lies in that industry and the people ought to stand up to them by getting rid of their lobbyists and vote out those representatives that get funded by them and do their bidding. First though we must get the facts, then put our heads together for a solution. If we do not then we shall be like the Romans, an empire in ruin.

Have you seen "Sicko" or just writing what you 'heard' about the movie?? Just asking--so many do without seeing it.

Heard Mr Moore talk about the film. I will see it soon. My blog is not a critics eye of the film. Please re-read it and you will get its import. You see the parties I refer to all have their own ax to grind. Question: Mr Moor's complaints about corporate America have made him a very rich man. He lives in a society that permits him to bite the hand that feeds him. He gets all the exposure on the cable vision channel without cost and has the added cherry of free advertising while he levels his gun against the people who own the station and their advertisers. What do you think of that? In the old days we called people who were communists and wealthy hippocrits. I think it still holds true.

I saw the movie--you can read my review under 'entertainment>movies--whatever his reason for doing they movie (money, fame, etc,) he is bringing up an important topic on an important subject minus partisian politics--and how would you define a capitalist???
And what's wrong with a man complaining about corporate America and making money at the same time. Isn't it American to point out the faults of our system?
And at least when he is on TV--cable or otherwise--he is accomplishing something, not like a Paris Hilton.
