I Was Thinking the Other Day About:

Teddy Roosevelt. What a great American and President he was. Al Gore is ringing an alarm just like Paul Revere. He is the messenger of all those scientists around the World from every country on this planet (a little exaggeration of course) to wake up to Global Warming. We are so busy with our own lives that no one is paying real attention. What has Teddy Roosevelt in common with AL Gore? Both men believed in conservation. Teddy in conserving all the natural beauty of our country(hence our national parks) while Al Gore without power is trying to awaken us to Preserve our Planet earth.

I don't care what side of the aisle you are if you don't listen your children will perish in a Biblical Disaster. Remember the Old Testament? Where God saw the creature he created man became so evil that he decided to start all over again. How did he do it? By a Great Flood. This is the story of Noah. Does it seem to fit today? How will Global Warming affect all of us? The scientists tell us that the Oceans will rise and will cause great disasterous floods in Cities all over the World. Millions and Millions of people will perish.

The guys who are churning out the bucks say, the heck with it I won't be here.
It seems that this philosophy drives our country right now. The Powerful men both in government and out of it seem afflicted with this shortsighted view of life. Teddy did not have this view. He went after the Big Guys and tried to open up their eyes to see the world is for all mankind not just them. He also awoke them to the fact we must preserve our God given heritage for future generations. He knew he would not be here forever. The more I read about him and learn the more in awe I am of his foresightedness. Ever a naturalist and driven to explore he went down the Amazon River in an attempt to be the first white man to traverse its entire length, took ill, never fully recovered his health and died shortly thereafter. Teddy was a Republican, but what he did affected both sides of the aisle. We don't have men like him in power today. All the very young and rich who made it in the Tech Revolution, sad to say, lack this certain quality that reaches out to others for the benefit of all. Oh yes building yourself a monument by giving away a small portion of your wealth and having your name spread all over to go on forever, is not what is meant by giving. What they are doing is self aggrandizement, feeding their own egos, a feel good way.

Al Gore is nothing but a hypocrit. He uses and abuses more energy resources in one day than your subdivision does in a month. That is the truth. There is a whole lot here that you have been misinformed about. I do hope you take a look at some of the real research. I'm not criticizing you in anyway. I'm attemptg to get you to take a look at all the information and not a manipulated version of it. We are in a warming trend, that is true but it has nothing to do with human's intervention. As a species, we are not that influencial where we have the ability to shut down mother earth. We over estimate our own power if we actually believe that.

    Please see my post: http://whereabouts.blogster.com/global_warming_us.html

Then please take a look at this one: http://whereabouts.blogster.com/co2_emissions_uncontrollable.html

    And this one: http://whereabouts.blogster.com/gore_global_warming_nuclear.html

Maybe consider taking a look at some other sources? CO2 levels have been higher in earth's past when we weren't contributing to it. It is only a theory and is not a fact that C02 is the culprit of the cycle we are currently in. There is no absolute proof - they're all just theories. I've read both sides of the issue.

There are 17,000 scientist out there who signed a petition urging the US Government to NOT conform to the Kyoto Treaty for the results have not yet been scientifically proven and they felt any type of recourse would be premature for it is based on speculation. Are those scientists to be discredited? Are all 17,000 of them just making things up?

The Co2 explanation is still a theory and that has been stated over and over again by very well-know scientists. There is no scientific proof that Co2 is the cause of climate change. Many scientists "suspect" Co2 is the culprit to the increase but it is all theory and speculation. At this point in time in history, it is impossible to know if it is fact for there are far too many ingredients going into the mix.

The sun has the greatest impact on Earth's temperatures but this is mixed with the solar winds, the positions of the planets during solar winds for when one body is at a certain position, solar winds could be significantly enhanced similar to the way a wave hits a small island. On the other side of the island, the effects of the original wave are magnified greatly because the forces change and converge together creating a greater impact. This same thing happens when solar winds rip around a planet in front of Earth. This significantly effects on our climate on Earth.

You limit your ability to understand the truth and what is real by not allowing the rest of the data a serious look. So many, including Al Gore, are making a premature judgement/decision without knowing for sure.

Our galaxy has it's own 200 million year cycle. We are within that that galaxy and in that cycle and therefore a part of it. You can't study a planet's climate pattern for only 400,000 years and claim to know all about it when the cycle absolutely exceeds that given the age of our planet.

We are on a planet that is still evolving. Earth revolves at 900 miles an hour. It's orbiting at 19 miles a second! The sun is the source of ALL our power. The sun, us, all the planets, all the stars, everything is moving at a million miles a day within the outer arm of the the galaxy - Milky Way. The Milky Way is moving at 40,000 miles an hour. Our Galaxy contains 100 million stars. Our galaxy is 100,000 light years from side to side and the middle is 16,000 light years thick. Where we are in the arm of the Milky Way it is 3000 light years wide. Our galaxy is 30,000 light years away from the Galactic Central Point - we go round the galactic central point every 200 million years. There are millions of billions of galaxies in our ever EXPANDING universe. Our universe is expanding in every direction at the 12 million miles a minute!

Once one grasps all the factors and ingredients that make up and contribute to the planet Earth all which have shaped and molded our planet and continue to shape and mold our planet and this includes the make up of our atmosphere and climate, how can anyone have the audacity to think that mankind is powerful enough to suspend all that is already in motion? Humans are not power like God and we cannot control the inevitable. Climate change is inevitable. The earth at one point in history was a piece of rock that was sucked into orbit around the sun. Over an extended period of time, that piece of rock colelcted enough space dust and debris to form a planet, and coupled with the appropriate climate conditions and positioning of the sun and moon along with collected moisture from space, conditions were right (after a few billion years) to produce single cell organisms, and from there all life expanded to where we are now. You've got to go back a REALLY long way to study the true cycle of climate and life.

We must keep an open mind about whether or not co2 and other polutants are causing or a contributing cause of Global Warming. Recent decision of the U.S. Supreme Court found that EPA (Agency that gives us enviornmental protection) Violated the Clean air Act by not limiting HEAT TRAPPING GREEHOUSE GASES IN VEHICLE EMISSIONS. The court said the EPA has the power to regulate these pollutenants. See my friend, I am not alone. Best to error on the side of caution than to ignore it. I recommed you get hold of a very recent Discovery Chanel documentary on Global Warming. Your too involved with personalities re Al Gore forgedabouthim and concentrate on the scientists. You say 17,000 World wide well I am not impressed in the number its the quality that counts. The program I refer to the narrator interviewer travelled to the North and South Pole with Top scientists from cuntries like Norway. They explained why they feel that global warming is man made. They Drill into the Ice and take ice samples. These samples like the rings of a tree tell at different ages in time what the co2 levels were. These samples are kept and compared. The independent finding is that in our time (commencing from the industrial revolution abut 150 years or so) until now the co2 found in the core samples have risen tremendously. Next you ask so What? Answer is two fold 1)Melting of our Glaciers at such a rapid pace 2) Penguins and other wild life. Two scientist (husband and wife) have devoted their lives living in isolation and studing penguins. These creatures live off the plankton found beneath the ice. I am talking about Artic Ice. They are world recognized authorities on the penguins (particulary the chin strap ones and their cousins) and their studies are highly authoritative. They found that within the last twenty years there has been a steady decline in their number and that they will bcome extinct. They then set about to find out what is the cause of this event. I'm sorry to tell you that your 17,000 scientists are not recognized as having spent their entire professional life in this kind of a study so keep this in mind for the "rest of the story". The rest of the Story: As Scientists they investigated what is the cause of this terrible happening.
They found that the ice beneath which these plankton live has receded so far as to cut off the food supply needed for this species. The ice cap is melting at an alarming rate my friend and if we do not pay attention to this but stick our heads in the sand we are going to be in big trouble from which we will not be able to get out of. I believe the United States Supreme Court in its recent decision is paying attention to this. It crosses party lines. It just so happens that Al Gore whom you dislike is a celebrety and can bring attention to what is going on "Global warming"
and its dangers. I don't know who is right and who is wrong but I will say this. The reason the EPA ignored it is because Bush wanted them to ignore it. Why? O I L and another contributor M A N U F A C T U R E R S of Automobiles. I have not formed my own opinion right now as to who is right or wrong but I will not close my mind to argument and so far I have not heard any sensible argument from those who oppose this theory. In Closing Ask youself this Question: Regardless of Who is Right or Who is Wrong is it not benefical to the health of all of us if we got rid of as many pollutents in the AIR we breathe just for the sake of our health

Yes, I saw those programs. I only watch the Discovery channel and the History channel. What you are not aware of is the individuals (scientists) they interviewed where they they either cut what they said and made it apear different or they cut out their statements entirely. TAlk to those on the inside - the ones who do the research. [SMILE]
